Memoir therapy is based on narrative therapy’s Narrative Worldview:

  • We are experts on our own lives and we view them as separate from our problems.
  • We make meaning of our lives through the stories we live out and interact with each other.
  • We review the aggregate of narratives as it influences each other.
  • We seek to adjust the stories we tell about our life in order to bring about positive change and better mental health.

We offer a memoir therapy program provides structured writing support, combined with archetypal psychology’s perspective. There’s a purposeful outcome that makes it potentially healing. This writing program is for people who wish to learn how to use the memoir therapy writing process to overcome past traumatic events and life’s challenges.

Memoir Therapy Process

We will work with the writer in 3 phases, namely:

  • Creative Writing: Here, we will be utilizing creative license to convert raw text and emotions into prose that provides a good reading experience as well as yield epiphanies for the writer.
  • Psychological Introspection: We utilize archetypal psychology and reflexivity tools like Hero’s Journey, accessing Akashic Book of Life, and journaling in this process.
  • Editing: This is the final process where the manuscript is polished one time to take care of story flow and grammatical issues.

Each phase takes about two weeks. There will be a 1-to-1 manuscript review from a memoir writing teacher to review the whole manuscript. The end goal is to have a 150-page memoir.
